Full-Time Police Officer

The Stratham Police Department is looking to fill a Full-Time Police Officer opening within the department. The Stratham Police Department is a CALEA accredited agency that delivers quality community based policing in active partnership with the citizens we serve. We are seeking a career and community oriented individual who desires to be part of a professional and progressive department.

The Stratham Police Department operates 24/7 and serves a population of approximately 8,000 residents within a 16 square mile area. Policing duties include emergency response, traffic enforcement, investigations, community outreach, preventative patrol, report writing and other services as needed. The Department currently has 12 full-time officers, 3 part-time positions and 2 administrative staff.

Minimum qualifications for this position include: United States citizenship, high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred but not required, be in good physical condition, possess a valid driver’s license, must be 21 years of age at time of appointment and possess the ability to work under extremely stressful conditions. Candidates that hold a full-time police officer certificate in the State of New Hampshire or equivalent out-of- state police academy will be given preference; however this is not a requirement.

Applicants may be required to successfully pass a written test (waived for full-time certified candidates), a fitness test, an oral interview, a psychological examination, a polygraph examination, a medical examination including a drug screen. All applicants will be required to pass a thorough background investigation and full or modified field training program based on previous experience. The current full-time Police Officer salary range is $56,513 to $73,673 depending on experience, and includes an excellent benefits package.
